Dr T.J. Read, is a retired executive, consultant and professor, living in Stratford for the last ten years, enjoying the wonderful giving community. Tony has over 40 years of international IT-Business experience, within: High Tech, Computing, Telecoms, Banking, and Retail industries. Throughout his career, Tony has led and successfully implemented key corporate initiatives, contributing millions of dollars to the top and bottom line.
Tony established Read & Associates in 2002, an international IT management and project delivery consultancy practice. Notable clients include: Jamieson Labs, Indigo, Kobo, Brinks, Longos, HP, CIBC, Telus, Bell Canada, Meridian Credit Union, and Google. Prior to establishing Read & Associates, he served as the CIO and IT senior vice president within several international corporations; including Nortel Networks, CIBC and CCI.
Tony is also a visiting professor at various universities, with several published papers on the subject of IT investment value, IT strategy, and PMO. He has earned a CIO Insight magazine accolade for one of the best IT-Business books: The IT Value Network: From IT Investment to Stakeholder Value, published by J. Wiley, NJ. The book has recently been translated into Chinese and continues to be internationally successful.
Dr Read graduated with a bachelor’s degree in management science, and subsequently earned an M.B.A. and a M.Ed. in organizational change management. In 2005, he earned his Ph.D. in Information Systems and was elected into the Honor Society of Computing Sciences, being awarded the Upsilon Pi Epsilon.
Originally from the UK, Tony has traveled to over 100 countries and published a new book with his wife, Rhonda Lee: Around The World: Stories from afar, but close to a bar. He enjoys tennis, with a strong sporting background in semi-pro rugby and international judo. So, many stories to share with his students, on and off the corporate and sporting fields of battle! Now eager to give back to the community at large.
