Martin Kern is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA). He was born and raised in Stratford (Perth East) and has been a life long resident. He retired as a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 2013 where he focused in tax consulting for high net-worth individuals and multinational corporations.

Martin is the current chair and treasurer of L’Arche Stratford which provides residential support and services to developmentally disabled persons and their families. He has served on the board, including as chair, of Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region for over 10 years and was awarded the Ontario Volunteer Service Award in 2020. He has also served on the board of Junior Achievement Southwestern Ontario (Kitchener-Waterloo).

Martin has served on the Finance & Investment Committee and brings his financial, tax and philanthropic experience to the board and management of the Stratford and Perth Community Foundation.

Martin resides in the home that he grew up in in Perth East with his wife, Rita Geysens.
