  1. Bullying Canada ~ $1,200
    Mathieson Family Fund
    This project’s goal is to go into schools across Perth County to educate teachers and students alike about what bullying is, how it affects people and how it can be stopped.

  2. Holy Name of Mary School, St. Marys ~ $3,000
    Annie and Isabelle Chesterfield Fund
    Benefiting the school and the surrounding community, this project’s goal of building a fully accessible playground and shaded outdoor classroom will unite children of all abilities in a safe, barrier-free environment.

  3. Listowel Eastdale Public School ~ $1,000
    Carnegie Family Fund
    This grant will help provide funds to replace unsafe playground equipment, providing Listowel’s children a safe place to play
    during and after school.

  4. Off The Wall ~ $900
    James and Laurel Laughton Family Fund
    Face2Face is a project designed to introduce theatre production to secondary school students with a focus on high skills majors in drama/theatre/art. The initial workshop will have instructors travel to schools focusing on mask-making techniques.

  5. Optimism Place ~ $500
    Judi Hemmingway Memorial Fund
    Welcoming Every Woman will provide training for staff, students and volunteers on how to address the needs of women with
    disabilities who seek their services.

  6. Optimist Club of Mitchell ~ $600
    Keith and Frances Culliton Family Fund
    This grant will provide the last bit of funding required to enhance the infrastructure of the Mitchell Optimist Playground by installing park benches and a covered shelter with accessible seating for persons with physical disabilities.

  7. Perth County Historical Foundation ~ $1,500
    Donald McTavish Conservation Fund
    In the spring of 2012, this grant will assist in funding the planting of native trees and shrubs on land near the Fryfogel Tavern which is being developed into an arboretum that will engage, educate and enrich its visitors to become better stewards of nature and the environment.

  8. St. Marys Childrens Choir ~ $1,100
    Ideal Supply Community Fund and the Maranger Family Fund
    This grant will help purchase new hardware and software so the volunteers of the Children’s Choir will be able to produce marketing materials, concert posters, programs and press releases which will save time and money by having everything organized in one location.

  9. St. Marys Public Library ~ $3,000
    Annie and Isabelle Chesterfield Fund
    This project will provide a variety of devices (CNIB readers, e-book readers and MP3 players) for homebound and disabled citizens of St. Marys and South Perth, allowing them full access to their community library.

  10. St. Marys Youth Centre ~ $2,200
    Community Fund in partnership with the AIA High Fives for Kids Foundation and the Jim and Laurel Laughton Family Fund
    The goal of this project is to provide an opportunity for youth to engage in activity through the creation of an X-Park. This facility will cater to skateboarders and BMX cyclists, while also providing terrain for other forms of wheeled transportation.

  11. Stratford and Perth Architectural Conservancy ~ $500
    Orr Family Fund
    This program is aimed at marking residential and non-residential buildings with historical plaques to assist in preserving architecturally significant structures in Stratford and Perth County.

  12. VON Perth Huron ~ $1,500
    Carnegie Family Fund
    Providing a 4-6-week luncheon cooking series in Listowel, teaching seniors to prepare delicious and healthy meals, and providing tips and tools on cooking for one or two.

  13. Wallace Public School, Listowel ~ $1,000
    Reading Fund, Jim and Laurel Laughton Family Fund and the Keith and Frances Culliton Family Fund
    This project is designed to promote literacy in young boys by supplying reading materials to the library. Recent tests have shown boys score below average on standardized testing, and with this project, Wallace Public School hopes to provide more books of interest to boys.

  14. Wellspring Stratford Cancer Support Centre ~ $2,000
    John and Colleen MacDonald Family Fund, the Anne Walsh Fund, the George and Edna Hislop Family Fund and the Maranger Family Fund
    The grant will provide resources to continue offering supportive cancer care programs and services at no cost to cancer patients and their families and/or caregivers.
