The Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation invites qualified community organizations to submit grant requests. Funding is available in the following areas:

Arts, Culture & Heritage Children & Youth Education & Literacy Environment

Health Recreation & Sports Seniors Social Services

2011 Eligibility Guidelines

In order to be eligible to apply for a grant, an organization must:

• Be registered as a charity with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) or be a qualified donee**
• Be in operation at least one (1) year
• Provide services within Perth County, Stratford and/or St. Mary’s
• Provide services without discrimination
• Multi-year projects may be considered

Projects not eligible for grants from the Foundation include:

• Direct religious activity
• Direct political activity
• Programs that are mandated by another funder
• Core operating expenses
• Deficit reduction
• Endowment campaigns
• Expenses incurred prior to awarding the grant

The Foundation is looking for projects which:

• Demonstrate Innovation
• Do not duplicate programs already operating in the community
• Address existing and emerging community needs and opportunities
• Strengthen the organization’s and the community’s capacity
• Have additional funding partners
• Build effective community partnerships within and across sectors
• Improve organizational effectiveness
• Demonstrate fiscal and management responsibility and sustainability
• Receive volunteer support from the community Impact people in a significant way
• Build on the community’s strengths, assets, skills and resources
• Develop leadership and self-reliance, emphasize prevention and mobilize civic participation and resources

All grant applications are reviewed by the Grant Advisory Committee with final approval by the Board of Directors. All decisions are final.
