What do YOU want for YOUR community?

When it comes to describing what we want for our community there is no end to the words that come to mind – inclusive, forward-looking, fair, creative, innovative, safe, green, fun. But there’s one word that sums it all up. Vital. Community vitality is something we at the Stratford and Perth County Community Foundation care a great deal about. This is what we do – build community vitality.

Community vitality is the unique spirit that flourishes when people believe their community holds possibilities for everyone. It’s put into action by people coming together, getting involved in community issues, and providing philanthropic support for causes and organizations.

We Build Community Vitality in Three Ways

Donor Engagement
We work with donors and help them plan and realize their philanthropic goals, matching their interests and concerns with community needs, opportunities and organizations. We help them find innovative and responsible ways to give their investments lasting impact. We build endowment funds and create legacies.

Granting
We work with charities and make grants from the earnings of the endowment funds to the widest possible range of organizations and initiatives. We support a broad variety of projects from those that provide for the most basic needs of sustenance, shelter, health care and safety to those that give quality to life, such as places and opportunities to play, learn and create.

Leadership
In our role as leader, catalyst and resource for the community, we bring people together from all parts of our community to stimulate new ideas, build participation, and strengthen community philanthropy. We promote partnerships to leverage community assets. We monitor the community’s quality of life, identify long-term needs and opportunities and invest is sustainable solutions.
